Ullapool’s main industries are tourism and fishing as well as being a bustling ferry port to the Western Isles. An ideal base for hill walking with spectacular scenery, nature cruises round bird Island, see the seals and dolphins. Have a round of golf on Ullapool’s new nine-hole course or try your hand at trout fishing on the Village’s plentiful rivers. Visit our Award Winning Museum and go back in time 200 years when Ullapool’s first settlers arrived. We also boast the U.K’s smallest radio station where the public are always welcome for a tour round the studio. An ideal base whatever your plans!

The views of Ullapool and Lochbroom, are said to be some of the most dramatic scenery in the Highlands. It is an ideal location for sightseeing, as most places of interest can be reached on a day trip. Nearby is the breathtaking Corrieshalloch Gorge, with the magnificent Falls of Measach at its head, where you can view from an over hanging platform or walk across on a suspension bridge. The tropical gardens at Inverewe are a must for all visitors. If walking is what interests you, you will not be disappointed with some of the most scenic and challenging walks in the Scottish Highlands. Beautiful sandy beaches suitable for children are only 45 minutes drive in either direction.
